Professional Biography:
Steven currently works in private practice as a licensed psychologist. He was licensed in 2012. Previous to that Steven worked three years as a psychological assistant and then registered psychologist at Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County in San Jose, CA. He worked for one year as a psychological intern at the JFKU Community Counseling Center in Sunnyvale, Calif. Steven graduated with a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in 2009.

Steven does psychotherapy with adult individuals working with depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, grief and loss, phase of life issues, birth trauma, loss of meaning, interpersonal
difficulties, and personal growth issues. He works from Jungian, psychodynamic, and transpersonal models of psychotherapy. He is the sole proprietor of a private practice. He also guest lectures on using aikido principles in the consulting room. Steven's side job/pursuit is teaching aikido, a non-violent Japanese martial art that emphasizes connection, harmony, and compassion.
What are you most proud of in regard to your career history?
Steven is most proud of how much he has grown as a person and a clinician in pursuing this career. He is also proud that he took the time to find the right career and the right version of that career that suits him.
What roadblocks did you encounter along your journey to find the right career?
Being able to separate what he wanted from what was expected of him. Working for nothing or next to nothing to get his licensing hours. Learning how to run the business side of private practice. Learning who to trust and who to ignore.
